Neoregelia van Durme
This Neoregellia is a stunning crinkly leaved epiphytes-- meaning they attach themselves to trees in the wild. They thrive in moist environments and unlike most tropical plants, they will tolerate dips in temperature. Their foliage is unique. It has a waxed look and a bit of a crunch to it with serrated edging. in the wild Neoregellias provide a home to tree frogs and other critters hence their popularity with reptile keepers.
Care: Dappled or medium to bright light. Top water to fill the centre 'cup'. Replace centre cup water often to avoid issues. Keep at 19c or higher. Repotting is not needed often. Feed monthly during blooming or in the growing season.
